Acrylic Sheets for a Number of Uses

Need for a shatter proof replacement for glass led to discovery of Acrylic Glass chemically known as Poly (Methyl Methacrylate) or just PMMA.  This material looks like glass but is not breakable.  In reality it is a thermoplastic material making it lighter and almost shock proof.  This is quite easy to cut and join simply by heating or by using Superglue.  Originally it was marketed in 1933 but became popular during the war due to its use in the bombers of that time for better visibility.

Initially there were drawbacks; the Acrylic material is prone to scratching. However, with research modern Acrylic material has able to overcome such issues. Acrylic Sheets in India is quite easily available through a network of Suppliers and distributors.

Acrylic material is commonly used for viewing ports in variety of areas such as planes, submarines and ATC tower etc. It is also used frequently in Aquariums.  This is commonly used by police to protect the officers in riot control vehicles to save them from hurled objects without compromising on the visibility.

Acrylic material is frequently used in medical industry to make implants to replace natural bone components etc.  Acrylic lens have come as boon for cataract treatment. These days original lenses are removed and a Acrylic lens placed in its place to return the vision to the suffering patients. Acrylic along with other Polycarbonate Sheets in India is bringing revolution in the medical industry. Sometimes, these Polycarbonate Sheets are known just by their trade names like Makrolon and Lexan Polycarbonate Sheets.

PVC Foam Board Are The Best

PVC Foam Board was originally discovered in 1912 but not until 1930 that it was commercially manufactured and used.  The modern day PVC Board was available only in the 70s when after research a light weight material was discovered. This material is manufactured by intermixing of two polymer chains of PVC and Polyurea.  Great advantage of this material is that is it is totally moisture resistant. Therefore, not surprisingly it is commonly used in items which are exposed to nature such as building site prototypes, Road Signs and Home Signs.

PVC Foam Board can tolerate heat up to 65 degree Celsius and totally resistant to moisture and many chemicals.  This material is commonly used in Road and Domestic Signage as it is not affected by Sun, wind and Rain.  PVC Foam Board is also used commonly for making models and prototypes.  In addition, it is commonly used for making photo frames and document display boards.  All kinds of experimental aircrafts and boats (normally radio operated) are made out of PVC Foam boards as they are totally water resistant.

This material is slightly acidic in nature and is not totally safe.  Also, adaptability to glue is on the lower side.  However, new PVC Foam Board Manufacturers have introduced a new kind of material in the market which has less acidic content. These are frequently used in case of photo frames.

PVC Foam Board Manufacturers in India has a super network; along with the PVC Foam Board Suppliers they have been able to supply this material easily across India at everybody’s doorstep.

A Few Things About Polycarbonate Sheets

If you need something through which you can see like glass but you want to strong like steel or aluminium what do you do?  The answer is simple you can go for the Polycarbonate Materials.  They have different levels of transparency depending upon quality and requirement and when laminated it is strong enough to withstand a bullet.  In fact the canopy tops of modern fighter aircrafts like the F-22 and the all the windows of the VIP security vehicles have bullet proof see through material made out of Polycarbonates.

Polycarbonate Sheet Suppliers in India provides sheets of different shapes and sizes which can be used by the customer as per requirement. Polycarbonate as such can be moulded into any shape using Thermo-Moulding Method. This material is commonly used for industrial stuff as it has natural fire resistant and extinguishing qualities.  It is commonly used in making Data Storage items like CDs and DVDs etc.  It is also used for making phone body. All popular phones of this age have a Polycarbonate body. Similarly, Polycarbonate items are used in medical industry and electronic industry to make important components as it is inert to most chemical reactions and is heat resistant.

Polycarbonates are excellent UV resistant material. Not surprisingly it is extensively used for making Green Houses and Domes of the buildings.  This is almost heat resistant as it can take up to 120 degree Celsius.  Polycarbonate Roofing Sheet Suppliers are spread across the country and supply different types of material with varying thickness and transparency depending upon the requirements.
